I’ve already learned how to control metadata in Photos so I can get keywords there. I’m happy to avoid Aperture in a new workflow if anyone knows how to get these videos out of Photos, retain original time/date, and be able to rename them to that naming convention. Ultimately I import them into iTunes so I can play them across all my Apple TV’s in the house. I would then apply any metadata and export them to finder. Use the calendar and the time dial to choose. You can also select a new time if needed or change the time zone. Tap the info button (the encircled 'i' icon) below the image. Here's how to do it for just one photo: Open the Photos app. Also, you can save the file with a date stamp while keeping the same resolution and quality. Launch the Photos app and tap a photo to select it. This works fine as each photo now shows the date on which it was taken rather than the scan date which appeared when the photos were imported. Once selected, tap Done at the top right corner. In iPhoto I changed the dates to the dates when the original photos were taken (between 19) using the 'Adjust Date and Time' and 'Batch Change' menu options. Now, choose the desired date and time for your image using the calendar and time dial. Below the caption box, you will see the adjust button next to the date and time. By using this app, you can effortlessly add and change the date stamp format, position, font, color, and size. Now, either tap the (i) button or swipe up the photo.
APPLE PHOTOS CHANGE DATE FOR ANDROID
My typical workflow has always been to import all iPhone videos from my family into Aperture and allow it to change the name from the garbage default “ IMG_#” to a sensible “ YYYY- MM- DD at HH- MM- SS AM/ PM” format. Timestamp Photo is a free photo date stamper app for Android devices.

The screenshot below shows my sample video was recorded on at 10:23pm but on the right it shows created/modified today () with 7:07pm (which is when I downloaded it from iCloud).Įxample: on the left = Photos app time/date | on the right = unmodified original video with today’s time/date Any album you create yourself can be sorted in several ways.

It appears any file that is inside iCloud knows what its original creation information is but doesn’t come down when you download that file to your Mac and export it. The Photos view is always sorted by the date the photos have been taken and the 'All Photos' album (in Photos 1 and 2) or Imports (in Photos 3) are sorted by the date you imported the photos for easy access to your most recent imports. I just learned an unfortunate reality about Apple Photos.
